Casper began his career at a heavy haulage trailer manufacturer in South Africa designing 40 tonne interlink trailers to withstand harsh road conditions in Southern Africa. This paved the way for a strong Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) knowledge base that supported his career path into the civil composite market.
As part of a large civil composite manufacturer, he went on to design multiple Footbridges, Aqueducts, Service platforms, etc. all benefiting from the light weight, corrosion resistant composites. All this time further developing his knowledge around DfMA and analysing highly non linear heterogeneous materials to suit the project requirements.
He started Structural Evolution in September 2020, whilst progressing his PhD in mechanical engineering with composites, researching the micromechanical behaviour of stiffened real world structures and how this localised stiffness effects closed form analytical solution like classical laminate theory.
His knowledge surrounding composites as well as the manufacture of small to large components in multiple materials truly provides a start to finish engineering service to our clients.
